April Wellness Focus: Intellectual Wellness
The core of intellectual wellness is making an ongoing effort to expand our creativity, knowledge and skills. Sometimes we associate creativity only with arts and crafting, or music. As a music therapist, I’ve heard lots of people say “I’m just not a very creative person.” This is not true! Creativity is like a muscle–we all have it, and we can all strengthen it by exercising it regularly.
April is a great time for learning something new–we can see the world coming to life around us as spring gets ready to stay awhile! Maybe the sunshine or the fresh spring air will inspire you to try watercolor painting, poetry, or gardening-or maybe it will simply inspire you to think about an ongoing challenge in your life in a different way. All of this contributes to intellectual wellness!
