COMMUNION AT HOME
All Saints invites you to share communion with the All Saints community in your home when participating online. Communion is celebrated on first and third Sundays. Gather bread and wine in advance of watching the service. During the communion liturgy, you will be invited to share in the meal at that time. We will continue to share communion on first and third Sundays as we have for many years.
Whether you are gathered with family, friends or participating on your own, each of us is part of the Body of Christ gathered across locations and time. All Saints has used various types of "bread" including wafers, pita bread, unleavened bread, as well as gluten-free/allergen-free wafers. When choosing something for your bread, recognize that communion bread does not need to be outwardly sacred or special in its appearance. It was the ordinary nature of the bread Jesus and his disciples shared, alongside the sacred event and words, that make Holy Communion what it is. The same is true of wine or grape juice. Both the grain in the bread and fruit from the vine represent a connection to the earth and the harvest which carries biblical symbolism.
