Outreach Ministries – Local Community

Making God visible in our community

Angel Tree Ministry

Jesus said, “I was in prison and you cared for me,” (Matthew 25:36). Angel Tree brings this special love of Christ to those in prison. Inmates, who typically can’t provide Christmas gifts to their kids, now can.  On behalf of the inmate (parent), we purchase and deliver the gifts to the kids – giving us the chance to demonstrate the wonderful redeeming love of Jesus. We also have a special Christmas party for the families, with fun, food, and prizes. We have seen this ministry powerfully restore broken relationships between children, parents, and families. For information on how to help, contact the Outreach Ministry Coordinator  by email, or phone at 952.934.3550, ext. 19.

Blood Drive

The Memorial Blood Center of Minnesota holds a blood drive at All Saints twice per year. If you would like to help, email or phone the church office at 952.934.3550.

Growing in Faith & Service

This program provides an opportunity to experience meaningful service as you follow the Lord. Design learning goals to meet as you work in a new cultural context. Contact the Outreach Ministry Coordinator by email or phone at 952.934.3550, ext. 19, if interested.

Families In Need

Volunteers collect used furniture and household items and distribute them to families who are in need. All Saints community members work with and mentor inner city youth who help deliver the items.

Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery

Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery works to end child abuse and neglect and create strong, healthy families. The Crisis Nursery supports families in crisis 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through the free, voluntary services.

Every month the nursery posts an updated list of needs on its website. You can purchase items from the list and drop them in the basket by the Sanctuary east entrance.

Habitat for Humanity

For over 20 years, every other year, All Saints members have built houses with Habitat for Humanity. The most recent project was in July and August of 2017.

View pictures and recaps from past projects.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide so that every man, woman and child can have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.

All are welcome to join us for worship at The Glenn.

 Delivering food to ICA

ICA (Inter-congregation Community Association)

ICA’s mission is to offer hope in providing assistance to neighbors in need and to uphold the dignity of our neighbors as they strive for self-sufficiency. All Saints supports ICA through volunteering and donations of food and money. Contact the Outreach Ministry Coordinator by email or phone at 952.934.3550, ext 19 with questions.

Lutheran Social Service (LSS)

LSS is one of Minnesota’s largest statewide, nonprofit charitable organizations. It provides a broad range of community services for youth, families, seniors, and people with disabilities. There are many opportunities to serve, including tutoring, mentoring, clothing collection and more, through LSS and The Center for Changing Lives.

Meals on Wheels

One week a month, volunteers from All Saints deliver meals to shut-ins. They deliver vital nutrition and a healthy dose of friendship and social connection. Our neighborhood Twin City Meals on Wheels program prepares and delivers more than 4,000 meals every weekday to the home-bound, elderly and disabled.  To volunteer, or get more information, contact the Outreach Ministry Coordinator by email or phone at 952.934.3550, ext. 19.

Our Saviour’s Shelter

Dinner is served bimonthly by an All Saints team. On the first Saturday of the designated month, volunteers cook and serve a meal and spend time with the residents of Our Saviour’s Shelter in Minneapolis. Rotating teams meet to cook in All Saints’ kitchen, then transport food to Our Saviour’s, located at 2315 Chicago Avenue South in Minneapolis.
